My approach

I aim to make therapy approachable and understandable. I use common, everyday language and often draw diagrams or use a whiteboard to make ideas clearer and more concrete. You won’t be expected to know psychological jargon or theory, that’s my job to translate.

I don’t use one type of therapy strictly. Instead, I draw on a combination of evidence‑based approaches, mainly Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate ideas from compassion-focused, solution‑focused, and attachment‑focused therapies, depending on what fits you and your situation.

We’ll work together to decide on the best path forward, taking into account your preferences, abilities, values, and resources. My role isn’t to be an authority telling you what to do, I sit with you through the difficult moments and walk beside you as we make sense of things together.

I also believe therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. Where it feels appropriate, I include a bit of humour and lightness, while still taking your experiences seriously. The aim is for our sessions to feel safe, collaborative, and human.
