A boutique clinical psychology practice, affirming the unique experiences, relationships, and identities of gay men and other queer folks.
Providing in-person therapy in Brisbane, and tele-health sessions across Australia.
Therapy that provides a safe, confidential space for you to talk openly about what’s going on in your life.
Sometimes people arrive with a clear sense of what they want to work on. Other times there is simply a feeling that something is not quite right.
You might notice worry that feels hard to control, periods of low mood that linger longer than you would expect, or relationship patterns that keep repeating themselves. Some people find themselves replaying conversations long after they have ended, struggling to switch off at night, or feeling overwhelmed by work and expectations.
For gay men and other queer folk, these experiences often sit alongside the broader context of growing up and living in a world where identity, relationships, and belonging have not always been straightforward or kind.
Often the people who come here have already spent a lot of time thinking about things themselves. Therapy becomes a place to step back, look at things more clearly, and work out what might help things shift.
Timothy Hill
Clinical Psychologist
Hi, I’m Tim

Brisbane Psychologist and the human behind the therapy
My work is shaped by where I come from, who I am, and the communities I care deeply about.

I grew up in the wonderfully diverse outer western suburbs of Melbourne, and that grounding has stayed with me. It taught me to show up with warmth, humility, and a genuine respect for people’s stories, cultures, and identities.

Before becoming a clinical psychologist, I spent more than a decade working as an accountant. That time gave me a real understanding of corporate life, the pressure, the politics, the burnout, and the expectations many people carry at work.

A big part of my work is with gay men and the broader queer community. I understand the shared language, the humour, the shorthand, and the unspoken experiences that shape queer life.

You won’t have to translate yourself or explain the basics to me.

Areas I commonly help with
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes the concerns are clear. Other times it simply feels like something needs attention.

Common areas of support include:

Often these experiences sit alongside earlier experiences such as bullying, rejection, stigma, or the pressure to hide parts of yourself.
My approach to therapy
I aim to make therapy approachable and understandable. You won’t be expected to know psychological jargon or theory. My role is to translate ideas so they make sense and connect with your real life.

I don’t use one type of therapy strictly. Instead, I draw on a combination of evidence-based approaches, mainly Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate ideas from compassion-focused, solution-focused, and attachment-focused therapies depending on what fits you and your situation.

We work together to understand what may be driving the patterns you are noticing in your life and to develop practical ways of responding that feel more aligned with what matters to you.

My role isn’t to be an authority telling you what to do. I sit with you through the difficult moments and walk beside you as we make sense of things together.
